From time to time individuals will come into the Police Department and/or flag over an Officer when they find other people's belongings.  We make all attempts to contact the respective owner(s) to advise them of the fact that we are now in possession of their property however, in many cases unfortunately, there is just no way to tell who owns the item(s).  The Greenfield Police is now going to post all of the "lost and found" property currently in our possession so that individuals can peruse it to determine if anything belongs to them.

In order to take possession of a lost and found item you must be able to prove it belongs to you.  In some cases this is very easy, as in the case of a turned in wallet with ID's etc., however in many cases it may be difficult.  Receipts, photos etc. can assist us in ensuring the property is yours.
